The Adriano Goldschmied Brand, most commonly known as AG Jeans, was founded in 2000 by…that's right, you guessed it, Adriano Goldschmied. Adriano was one of the founding members of Diesel in 1978, and I guess after many a year of working for other peeps said, "hey, Adriano, why don't you start your own denim company?" So, that is what he did.
Adriano partnered up with Yul Ku, the head honcho over at Koos Manufacturing that is known for manufacturing jeans for everyone from Calvin Klein to A/X Armani Exchange to Gap and Abercrombie & Fitch. Koos Manufacturing is located in South Gate, CA, and they are very proud and committed to their "Made in the U.S.A." label.

All of the AG Jeans are cotton - some with no stretch, and some have a lot of give. The weight of the cotton ranges from a normal pair of heavy jeans to something as thin and comfortable as a pair of cashmere pants. I mean, we're talking comfy and as I would personally say, deliciously soft. As I was specifically told in the LA store on Robertson Blvd, there is a pair of AG Jeans to fit every woman's body - seriously, it doesn't matter if you're tall and thin, short and thin, tall and round, short and round, stubby, lanky... they have a pair of jeans that will make you look fab-u-lous. There is no way you won't look hot in a pair of these jeans. Not to mention, they also have about 15 styles of jeans for guys, so your hunky sidekick can look good, too.
Although AG Jeans does carry things other than jeans, like corduroy pants, cotton t-shirts, leather jackets, and more - they are clearly known for their denim.
When Adriano approached Yul in the spring of '99, I don't think either of them knew the extent of the success they would reach over the next handful of years. AG has had a steady increase in sales over the past four years, and doubled their sales every year for the past three years. In 2004, Adriano decided to split from his namesake company to explore other pastures. Yul and Koos Manufacturing took the split as an opportunity to continue to grow the brand by hiring a slew of young designers to work and create in a sort of "think tank" environment. New AG Jeans boutiques are popping up left and right, not only in the United States but also Canada, Asia and Western Europe.
